École Trail

The École trail is a hiking trail (for non-motorized use) covering an approximate distance of 5 km (10 km round trip) in a north-south orientation between the church of Grande-Digue and St-Marcel. It consists of a 1 km section with open fields and a 4 km wooded section. The level of difficulty is considered moderate. The GDWouf nature class is adjacent to the École trail, approximately 1 km from the south entrance. It provides access to a natural site to promote outdoor learning.

South access: Two entrances are available, each with a parking space.

  • Parking no 1: Église de la Visitation church (link), route 530. Opposite is chemin Les Digues where the trail begins (link).
  • Parking no 2: Grande-Digue school (link). This access can be used outside school hours, during holidays and in summer. Access to the trail is via the small bridge (link) designed for this purpose, near the playground.

North access: The entrance (link) is on route 530, near civic number 4729.

  • Parking no 3: Parking (link) is available on chemin Belle-Côte, which is identified by a sign. The entrance (link) to the trail is about 300 meters to the north.

Connexion to the Alyre Bourque trail: The École trail is linked to the Alyre Bourque trail at the intersection (link) of the Roger and Alyre cross-country ski trails by a junction of approximately 250 meters.
